How do file versions help after a mistake or conflict?
A retained version provides a way back when a file changes.
When a change has been acknowledged, the previous content should not disappear unnoticed. LinkDisk retains versions according to the Space settings so you can inspect earlier saved content.
If two devices change a file at once, or an upload ends uncertainly, a client must not pretend the latest content was safely saved. The user needs to inspect and explicitly recover the outcome; a write is not replayed automatically.
Version history is not a complete backup strategy. Retention rules and reliable automatic Windows sync are still being tested before general availability.
